BOOKING APPOINTMENTS

Booking an appointment is fairly easy, check the schedule and appointments link on my home page and ideally, give me a call. If you are SURE you want an appointment sometime within my next few trips, then you’ll want to get your deposit sent in. I do consultations free, either by phone or I person. I talk far faster than I type and there’s a lot of information to communicate initially to a first-time client, so e-mail can be restrictive. Once I get a sense for what you’re looking for, I’ll email you sample photographs of tattoos I’ve already done, just to get a better sense of what you really like stylistically. We’ll discuss meanings on the phone, as it is too complex to e-mail. Once we narrow down the style and the meaning that you want, then I can start drawing for you and sending sketches via e-mail. Typically after this process involves three to five phone calls and five to eight e-mails. When your art is done & we know how long we need for your appointment block, then we should be ready to look at scheduling your actual appointment date & time. I give preference in scheduling according to the date of deposit, so signing up early is a good thing.

I do tattoo consultations free of charge, either by phone, e-mail, or in person prior to each of my tattoo trips.

Before I will send you any artwork, however, a deposit of $100 is required (subject to periodic increase as required). This guarantees you an appointment provided you sign up by the deadlines posted, and is applied to the final cost of your tattoo.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please review this a week before your session!

Drink a LOT of water for 4-5 days before your appointment. This will make the ink go in far easier & quicker, and therefore cost you less in both money & pain. One ounce per 2 pounds of body weight is recommended. Your skin needs to be well-hydrated, which also means no excessive tanning beforehand. Also salt water & chlorine can dry out your skin. Limit your swimming and eat healthy for a few days.

Avoid Dove, Caress and other moisturizing soaps for 4-5 days ahead. If you use these types of soaps, your transfer is far less likely to stick. Drinking water is your best means of hydration, and this goes for skin, too! DRINK WATER!!!

If it is in an area where you have a lot of body hair, shave 24 to 48 hours before. Don’t worry about a clean shave– a few hairs is ok. Above all, don’t nick or cut yourself! If you do, no tattoo! A scratch or nick (or zit) can hold excess ink & become permanent.

Try to get a good restful sleep for a couple of nights prior to your appointment. We don’t want you exhausted. Don’t party too much before. A few beers or a glass of wine is fine, but keep it moderate. Be healthy & it will go easier & you’ll heal quicker

Eat something substantial an hour or two before your appointment time. Don’t come with an empty stomach!. Protein is good. Don’t eat a lot of sugars and avoid smoked or heavily processed meats like hot dogs, spam or sausage for 4 to 5 days ahead. Sodium nitrates and sugars make you swell more. Eat something fairly healthy. Avoid artificial flavors & preservatives.

Wear something appropriate. Remember what part of your body we need access to. Don’t wear something brand new & white, as we are likely to get some ink on it. If we’re doing your neck or upper back/shoulder area, remember a few bobby pins and a few hair clips.

Ideally pick up some A& D Ointment, the baby diaper stuff. It comes in a white box with gold/brown letters/logos on it. Don’t buy the generic stuff or the box that,s primarily white with blue. Longs, Rite-Aid, Save-On, should have it or ANY store that sells diapers & such. You’ll need this afterward.

Please don’t wear cologne, perfume or aftershave. I’m allergic to a lot of fragrances.

And RELAX! It’ll be FUN!
